Niue Cruises

Niue is a small island located within the Pacific Ocean and it is fast becoming a popular tourist destination due to its close proximity to a number of other Pacific islands including the likes of Tonga and the Cook Islands in a roughly triangular shape. Niue Cruises offered within the island tend to provide luxury towards these locations as well.

With a population just short of 5,000 Niue has relied upon its developed nation neighbour and ally New Zealand for support and sustenance in matters of defence, economic revival and diplomatic missions. In particular, the New Zealand government has been instrumental in providing the requisite resources in terms of both capital and investment expertise. Given that tourism has been identified as  a potentially very lucrative niche of the market, it is hardly surprising then that there has been a major commitment to ensure that Niue Cruises finally take off in full steam.

A major focal point for all Niue Cruises is a visit to the historical and cultural landmark of Opaahi Landing which is where the (in)famous Captain James Cook first tried to set landfall on the island of Niue in the 18th century. The site is not a beach (sorry folks!) but it is an excellent diving site for those of you who are avid divers. Opaahi Landing is also an idea location for fishermen of all levels of skill and expertise. A word of caution however about fishing in this region: bottom feeders which dwell are toxic when consumed.
